The Portland Winterhawks are a junior ice hockey team based in Portland, Oregon that plays in the Western Hockey League. The team has a rich history of banners, titles and cups and has produced over 120 NHL players. The team averages approximately 6,000 fans per game.
We are the receiver in proceedings commenced in Canada, which have been recognized under Chapter 15 of the US Code. We were appointed the receiver during the COVID pandemic and there was significant uncertainty regarding the team’s long term viability. We ran a sale process of the Winterhawks which resulted in a going-concern transaction to well-capitalized owners, which include an NHL executive.
