Dean Perlman brings sharp analytical insight and a calm, solutions-driven approach to distress situations. He understands the urgency and sensitivities involved in turnaround situations and delivers candid and direct advice grounded in real-world experience. Whether navigating formal insolvency proceedings or informal restructurings, Dean identifies the core issues and charts a focused path forward for management teams and stakeholders.
As a Senior Manager at KSV Advisory, Dean advises financially distressed companies and their stakeholders in both formal and informal restructurings. Based in Toronto, he brings deep experience in advisory mandates, including business plan reviews, cash flow analysis, stakeholder negotiations, interim management and cash flow management.
Dean has advised public and private companies in domestic and cross-border engagements with operations across North America and Europe. His industry experience spans automotive, cannabis, industrial manufacturing, metals and mining, retail, software and telecommunications. Before joining KSV, Dean held roles in the Turnaround & Restructuring practice at a global restructuring firm and at a Big Four accounting firm. Notable public files include acting as CCAA Monitor in Fire & Flower and Tacora Resources, Information Officer in Ligado Networks LLC, and Receiver and Manager in HockeyShot Inc.
Known for being approachable and a strong communicator, Dean is a trusted advisor who guides clients through difficult situations. He tackles challenges directly and ensures decision-makers have a clear grasp of their options at every stage.
A former Ontario Hockey League (OHL) draft pick and competitive hockey player, Dean brings the discipline and work ethic to his job that allowed him to be successful on the ice. Outside of work, he enjoys lacing up his skates or exploring his passion for aviation.
