Bio

Murtaza acts as a trusted advisor to both creditors and debtors in a variety of restructuring and financial advisory mandates.

Drawing on over 10 years of experience in professional services, Murtaza is known for his steady judgment, clear communication style, and ability to navigate multi‑stakeholder environments with a practical and collaborative approach.

Murtaza has been extensively involved in various complex restructurings, including within the recent CCAA proceedings of Oak and Fort, Sandvine Corporation, LoyaltyOne and Iovate Health Sciences.  Murtaza also has significant experience acting in a court-appointed capacity within the real estate sector, including recently in connection with the insolvency proceedings of the Vandyk Group, Stateview Homes, YSL Residences Inc. and 759 Winston Churchill, among several others.

Murtaza is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT). He holds an honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA). Before joining KSV, Murtaza held various positions at two of the Big 4 accounting firms.
