Bio

Murtaza Tallat regularly goes above and beyond for his clients and colleagues. They appreciate his clear, around-the-clock communication and professional and helpful approach. Coming from a business-focused family, he had early exposure to complex business problems that fueled his interest in helping businesses find feasible solutions. He is now a Manager at KSV Advisory where he thrives in the firm’s small, tight-knit and collaborative culture.

He investigates, digs deep and prides himself on his strategic approach to complex problems that helps him to be well-prepared in all situations.

He advises both creditors and debtors in restructuring and insolvency matters including formal proceedings under the BIA, CCAA reorganizations, operational turnarounds, lender advisory, and distressed corporate finances.

Murtaza also participates in KSV’s valuations and disputes engagements by preparing business valuations and due diligence reports.

With a focus on the big picture, Murtaza can analyze substantial amounts of data in a short period of time to determine the points of stress and create a solid plan of action for clients in many industries including retail and manufacturing, distribution, health care, cannabis, transportation and logistics, and sports.

Murtaza can always be counted on in all situations. Calm under pressure, he smoothly handles complex, time-sensitive and urgent situations. His clients are often in distressed situations and he believes that they need an advisor who not only devises a solution but really cares too.

Before joining KSV Advisory, Murtaza was a Senior Consultant in finance advisory at Deloitte and a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers specializing in asset management and financial institutions. His background of leading engagements, managing multiple stakeholders and analyzing data to help companies become more efficient, productive, and cost-effective brings unique expertise to his restructuring work.

He holds an honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).
