Community Outreach

Being involved in and contributing to our local communities is important to KSV. We hold and participate in events for numerous charitable organizations across Canada. Here’s a look at some of the causes we support.

Eli's Place

KSV proudly supports Eli's Place, a start up charitable organization founded by a couple who lost their son to suicide. The mission is to create a rural, residential long-term treatment centre for young adults with serious mental illness.

The Littlest Volunteer Big Day of Giving

KSV was the 2020 presenting sponsor of The Littlest Volunteer Big Day of Giving – a sold out event aimed at educated youths about volunteerism and giving back to the community.

KSV Charity Golf Classic

KSV has a longstanding tradition of hosting an annual charity golf tournament.  Funds raised from our annual golf events now exceed $2 million.  Our most recent event, held on June 17, 2019 at Beacon Hall Golf Club, supported the pediatric cancer centre at SickKids Hospital.  The cause was particularly close to our firm due to the unfortunate passing of Owen Weinstein, the 14-year old son of Peter Weinstein, who leads our valuation practice.  The 2019 KSV Charity Golf classic was one of our most successful tournaments to-date, raising over $250,000 thanks to the overwhelming support of our sponsors, donors, participants and volunteers.  KSV is extremely grateful for everyone who made this event so memorable and successful.  KSV had a Notice published in The Globe and Mail on August 3, 2019 to recognize our sponsors.

The Tourney by Lifeline

In July, 2018, we were a lead sponsor of the first annual "The Tourney", a golf tournament organized by Lifeline, a Lifetime Charitable Foundation.  The inaugural event successfully raised over $100,000, which was distributed to numerous charities, including the Sick Kids Hospital Foundation, Starlight Foundation and Liv Wise Charity.

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

On October 10, 2019, we continued our tradition of supporting JDRF by putting the pedal to the metal at the  JDRF Ride to Defeat Diabetes .  The 2019 JDRF Ride has raised in excess of $2.5 million.  KSV’s participation at this event has become an annual tradition and we look forward to further our fundraising and cycling efforts for years to come

Erace Cancer

KSV is a proud supporter of the Erace Cancer cycling team, consisting of road, triathlon, mountain and cyclocross racers who participate at local, provincial, national and international events to raise money for Camp Oochigeas. Camp Ooch, as it is known, is a privately-funded, volunteer-based organization that provides kids with and affected by childhood cancer with unique opportunities for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences. In the last four years, Erace Cancer has raised over $250,000 in support of Camp Ooch.

Minor Hockey

KSV has a strong connection to minor hockey. KSV was a lead sponsor and supporter of Minor Hockey Fights Cancer, with the proceeds of the firm’s 2014 annual golf tournament going toward this cause. MHFC raised over $1 million in the fight against cancer, with a significant portion of the donations generated from the efforts of KSV and its team.

Joel Schwartz Memorial Hockey Tournament

In March 2016, we sponsored a team and participated in the 6th annual Joel Schwartz Memorial Hockey Tournament. The ultimate beneficiary of the event is Reena, a non-profit social service agency dedicated to helping those with developmental disabilities. KSV’s team made it to the finals!
